Steel Structure Almost Complete!

While the winter season has restricted Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing underground and concrete slab on grade activities from taking place, the mild winter conditions to date have allowed the Pre-Engineered Metal Building erector (S&A Company) to continue steady progress. The steel structure of the Alpena County Jail is almost entirely complete, Area A (Sheriff’s Office) will be enclosed in early January and it is expected that the entire building will be completely enclosed in early February. Once enclosed, the construction team will be using temporary heaters to heat the building, allowing interior activities to begin taking place out of the weather.

Over the course of the coming month, activity onsite will begin picking up intensity with the placement of interior concrete slab-on-grade followed by masonry wall construction and MEP rough-in activities.
